Kena Nicol is a GIS Analyst in the Cromwell Research Center at The Retail Connection. Her background includes data analysis, research, map design, and process building.

Prior to joining TRC, Kena was a GIS & Data Visualization Analyst with the Labor Market Intelligence Center at Dallas College, where she analyzed regional industry and community needs, and utilized labor market information to guide data-based decision making at Dallas College. Before becoming a GIS Analyst, Kena pursued a career in the music industry, where she worked on concerts and music festivals.

Kena holds a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused on science, technology, and the environment. She also minored in European Studies and a received a certificate in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. Through her degree, she was able to study abroad at the University of Sheffield in England.

In her free time, Kena is an avid traveler, having been to 34 states, 31 national parks (including 4 international parks), and 15 countries. Kena also enjoys making candles, cooking/baking, and hanging out with her dog. Kena is interested in urban planning, discovering new music, and photography.
