A 15-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, David Fazio primarily dedicates his business activity to retail tenant representation with direct responsibilities to The Retail Connection’s big box accounts and national market leaders in their respective categories: Nordstrom Rack, PetSmart, Famous Footwear, Dave & Busters, JoAnn Stores and Party City. In addition, Fazio heads the real estate strategy for Vitamin Shoppe in the Western US and represents Carters and Mattress Firm locally.
Fazio also specializes in national advisory, heading the rollout of multiple clients’ new store expansion strategies and their existing portfolio management across the United States, with his largest national advisory client Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. and their related concepts, buybuyBABY, Cost Plus World Market, Harmon and Christmas Tree Shops/And That!. He coordinates their tenant representation over an expansive territory throughout 13 states in the southeast/southwest and internationally throughout Mexico culminating in the TRC team transacting over 300 leases for Bed Bath & Beyond’s respective brands with best-in-class developers and landlords such as Simon, Kimco, Inland, RPAI, InvenTrust, Weingarten, Kite Realty and Brookfield Properties.
Fazio is also responsible for the national advisory and strategic planning for Visionworks, highlighted by heading the implementation and rollout of their Philadelphia market strategy and expansion, negotiating 34 new store leases over a 24 month period. To date, TRC’s Visionworks team has negotiated over 275 new store leases and renewals nationwide.
In addition to his core client responsibilities, David is a Regional Tenant Council Regional Chair for the Chainlinks Retail Advisors Network, working with numerous Chainlinks affiliate network offices across the country and plays an active role along with TRC’s Managing Director in the screening and training of new brokers in TRC’s Brokerage Analyst Program. David is also an active servant to the community through his role with The Real Estate Council [TREC] as Fazio heads the retail team for TREC’s Dallas Catalyst Project as well as playing a mentor role in TREC’s Mentorship Program.
Fazio began his professional career by joining The Retail Connection, L.P. as an analyst in September 2004. He holds a Texas Real Estate Salesperson License and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers [ICSC] and formerly participated in ICSC’s Next Generation Program and the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors [NTCAR]. In addition to numerous nominations for DBJ/DCEO’s Best Real Estate Deals, Fazio was recognized by Chain Store Age in 2019 as a Top 10 Under 40 recipient.
Fazio has a Bachelor’s Degree with concentrations in Economics, Technical Communication, and English from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
