Adrian Gonzalez is a Senior Vice President | National Advisory with The Retail Connection. Adrian joins The Retail Connection after a 20+ year retail career in both real estate and retail operations. Adrian most recently served as Vice President | Retail Growth and Development for Golfsmith International, Inc. During his 15-year tenure at Golfsmith, Adrian led the company’s growth to over 110 locations nationwide. As head of real estate, Adrian helped guide the company back to a steady growth by establishing a complete real estate process, including overseeing the company’s long-term strategy, market research, predictive modeling, site selection, lease administration and creation of a design & construction process to bring new stores to life.
Adrian has successfully negotiated and executed real estate deals in major and mid-tier markets across the nation. From landing high-impact locations, such as prestigious 5th Avenue in Manhattan, to the Bay Area, and ground-up developments in Myrtle Beach, Adrian brings a unique insight and perspective of the national real estate landscape. In addition, Mr. Gonzalez brings Strategic Planning experience with the management and optimization of a wide ranging portfolio, having overseen a store roster of more than 2 million square feet.
Adrian has established a wide network within the real estate community from national developers, to brokers and investment firms, which allow him to bring a specialized range of skills to retailers looking for strategic guidance and assistance.
Adrian is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers [ICSC]. He attended Texas A&M University and completed his education at the University of St. Thomas in Houston with a degree in Marketing and Communications. Adrian has also completed the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
